The Roslyn area is gearing up for Memorial Day celebrations, which will be many people’s first since COVID-19.

The annual Memorial Day Commemoration and Fireworks Extravaganza in North Hempstead is back this year. The event will take place at North Hempstead Beach Park on Saturday, May 28, with the program beginning at 6:30 p.m.

A fireworks display and musical entertainment will be part of the event. The gates open at 3:30 p.m., and the fireworks begin at 9:15 p.m. Veterans and active-duty military members can park for free, while everyone else will be charged $10 per car.

Old Westbury Gardens will be open on Memorial Day. The garden aims to inspire admiration for the early 20th-century American country estate by preserving its landscape, gardens and architecture.

The Glen Cove Memorial Day Parade will begin at noon on May 30 at School Street and will proceed to downtown Glen Cove.

The 2022 Memorial Day observance in Sea Cliff will begin at 9 a.m. on Monday, May 30 at Memorial Park. However, at the time of publishing, the village has not stated if they would resume their yearly parade, which begins at Memorial Park, or whether they will hold a small ceremony at Clifton Park.

Westbury’s Memorial Day Parade begins at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, May 30 from the Westbury Volunteer Fire Department Headquarters and proceeds along Post Avenue, then to the Village Community Center, 360 Post Avenue, for the Memorial Day Ceremony.

If a parade or town is missing, please provide Blank Slate Media with the location, date, time and a link to the event.
