Integrated English as a New Language (ENL) teams from across the East Williston School District are participating in a professional development series with prominent expert on collaboration and co-teaching for multilingual learners, Dr. Andrea Honigsfeld.

The teachers are participating in a book study, facilitated by Dr. Honigsfeld, of her recently published book titled “Co-Planning: 5 Essential Practices to Integrate Curriculum and Instruction for English Language Learners,” co-authored by Dr. Maria Dove.

Every ENL teacher in the district invited one of their classroom or content area co-teachers to participate in the book study. The teams work together, by building, and attend virtual professional development sessions facilitated by Dr. Honigsfeld where they unpack best practices for collaboration and co-planning to enhance their skills, curriculum and support for all their students.
