Fifth-grade students at the John Lewis Child’s School were treated to a visit from the Queens Botanical Garden and Nature Nick’s Animal Adventure as part of the Grow With Me program through the Hance Family Foundation.

The Hance Family Foundation provides outdoor educational activities for fifth graders each year throughout the community, to honor the Hance girls – Emma, Alyson, and Katie – who were killed in a car accident in 2009.

The Grow with Me program is in honor of Emma Hance, who loved the outdoors and aims to educate the students about animals and our environment.
