Students from Mineola High School served a main course of kindness as they donated their time to prepare dinner for families staying at Ronald McDonald House in New Hyde Park.

The students, members of the school’s Student Service Center, brought the groceries and prepared a delicious meal for the families in residence, including “Mineola Meatloaf, a Ronald McDonald House favorite.

Ronald McDonald House provides temporary housing for pediatric cancer patients and their families from the US and countries throughout the world while they are getting treatment at local hospitals.

Since 1983, the Mineola High School Student Service Center has stressed the value of public service by offering students the opportunity to volunteer and provide community support during and after school.
