Equipped with construction paper, heart-shaped stickers and paper doilies, students from John Lewis Childs School in the Floral Park-Bellerose School District crafted beautiful Valentine’s Day cards for veterans as part of Nassau County’s Valentines for Veterans program.

Students from each grade participated in the effort, creating unique and colorful designs on their cards and writing heartfelt wishes to thank veterans for their service. Before creating their cards, classes had discussions about who veterans are and the importance of their service to our country.

The students’ cards will be delivered to Theodore Roosevelt Executive and Legislative Building in Mineola for distribution to local veterans who are in nursing homes and hospitalized throughout the county.
