John-Paul Smolenski founded MMP Capital in 2013 and serves as president and CEO. Over the past 10 years, he has been the driving force behind MMP Capital’s significant growth, establishing MMP Capital as a leader in equipment financing, leasing, and unsecured capital.

MMP Capital funds more than $350 million annually for clients in aesthetic medical, healthcare, graphic arts, dentistry, veterinary, and ophthalmology industries who regularly need new equipment.

Clients turn to MMP for its quality service, highly competitive rates, and loans that are often approved within hours.

Personalization is a key component of John-Paul’s leadership. Internally, John-Paul has built a family culture that encourages employees to spend time together both in and out of the corporate setting.

Externally, he has fostered strong customer, vendor, and banking relationships to create flexible financial programs for both new and well-established small businesses.

Under his guidance, MMP Capital responds to all inquiries – email, phone, or text — within 5-10 minutes and will track a customer’s performance through custom analytics to offer expert advice and an overall better experience.

As a leader in commercial financing, John-Paul joined the Forbes Finance Council, an invitation-only community of top financial services leaders.

He was selected by a review committee based on the depth and diversity of his experience, his track record of successfully impacting business growth, and his significant personal and professional achievements and honors.

Beyond professional achievements, John-Paul is actively involved in his community. He founded a community giving program called MMP Tots a few years ago as a scholarship program, awarding tuition for private K-12 education to families on Long Island.

In 2023, as part of MMP Capital’s 10th Anniversary Year, the MMP Tots program expanded with the goal of enriching young lives beyond their education.

The MMP family was invited to take part in charitable activities throughout the year, volunteering and organizing events to give back and make an immediate impact.

John-Paul attended Purdue University, where he was nominated and served as captain of the men’s track and field team in 2004-2005.

At Purdue University, he also distinguished himself as a Big Ten conference champion, an NCAA All-American, and had the privilege to represent the United States on its Under 23 Men’s National team.

He graduated with a bachelor of arts degree in history and went on to receive a master’s degree in educational administration.

Among his professional affiliations, John-Paul is a member of the Aesthetic Industry Association and serves on the group’s advisory board as a commitment to the long-term health and sustainability of the medical aesthetic industry.
