Adopt-A-Floral Baset or Planter Campaign this spring from Manhasset Chamber beautification

Spring is upon us and the Manhasset Chamber of Commerce is busier than ever planning events for this upcoming year and thrilled to bring back “Big Community Clean-up” as part of the Great Global Cleanup on Earth Day, April 22 in addition to the Manhasset Al Fresco summer event coming before we know it.

The annual Adopt-A-Hanging Floral Baskets and Adopt-A-Floral Planter campaign is in full swing. The lovely hanging baskets will be placed on light poles in early May. The beautification of Manhasset is something that makes our town look special.

Last year, the chamber purchased Boxwood Green Mountain Evergreens, which remain all year, supplemented by seasonal or holiday theme decorations for the planters which enhance the beauty of Plandome Road.

In the spring, cascading annuals will be planted in the planters, and in the winter, a holiday planter arrangement will be arranged.

The plants are paid for by donations received from a variety of businesses, residents and organizations. The chamber is working with the Town of North Hempstead and has secured the watering of these beautiful plants to flourish throughout the summer, by the Town.

The Chamber is looking for additional sponsorship of these planters to ensure that beautification continues. Visit www.manhassetchamber.com for sponsorship and donation opportunities for both campaigns. Sponsorships for Hanging Baskets $150, Planters $300 and Beautification $50 include name recognition on Manhasset Chamber website.

On Earth Day, the Chamber is leading a community clean-up day. Store owners will receive brooms to sweep and maintain the front of their shops to help maintain beautification. Student organizations and residents are invited and encouraged to join too.

The Great Global Cleanup is a worldwide campaign to remove billions of pieces of trash from neighborhoods, beaches, rivers, lakes, trails, and parks — reducing waste and plastic pollution, improving habitats, and preventing harm to wildlife and humans.

This program aims to continue clean-ups every day of the year for a brighter, greener, and cleaner planet and the Chamber is bringing it to Manhasset.

The Manhasset Chamber is working hard to make Manhasset a wonderful place to reside and we urge residents to get involved in the community, shop local and consider becoming a part of the chamber through a beautification membership.

Remember Plandome road belongs to our community and not just businesses. We as our Manhasset community need to think globally but act locally and to take action, so please consider taking part in our local Earth Day April 22, 2022!
