Recently Mineola Chapter # 716 of the Order of the Eastern Star (who meets in New Hyde Park) recently commemorated Flag Day by Celebrating Our Veterans.
The fun-filled event included Posting the Colors, historical facts both about Flag Day and the United States Armed Forces all the while giving homage to our local veterans and their families for their dedication to our country to ensure the freedoms we enjoy daily.
The event was also a book drive to benefit the not-for-profit organization, Books for Veterans.
Many of the guests included Nassau County Executive Laura Curran, members of the Masonic War Veterans (Henry Biel Post #46), St. Albans Masonic Lodge # 56, and Order of the Eastern Star – Nassau Queens Brooklyn District.
