Police said a 63-year-old male victim had an envelope of money stolen from his vehicle Thursday morning in Herricks.
At 11:44 a.m., the victim just exited the Capitol One Bank located on Hillside Avenue when a man described as Asian, wearing a green bomber jacket, blue medical mask and blue skit hat, falsely informed him that his tire was flat, police said.
As the victim was inspecting the alleged flat tire, the suspect grabbed an envelope from the victim’s car containing an unknown amount of money before fleeing on foot towards Herricks Road.
An investigation is currently ongoing and police are asking anyone with information to contact the Nassau County Police Crime Stoppers at 1 – 800 – 244 -TIPS.
