Floral Park-Bellerose School students in orchestra, band and chorus performed for their peers at the Winter Concert on Jan. 19.

The concert opened with the Fourth Grade Cadet Orchestra, which played “Fiddler’s Hoedown” and “Ode to Joy.” Then, the Fifth and Sixth Grade Advanced Orchestra took to the stage to perform “Rockin’ Rosin,” “Sahara Crossing” and “Dragonhunter.” Both groups were led by orchestra teacher David Elyaho.

Following the orchestra performances, Floral Park-Bellerose School students were treated to performances by the Third Grade Chorus, led by music teacher Alyssa D’Amato. The young vocalists sang “Mister Frosty Winter,” “Winter Walk” and “Winter Fantasy.”

Then, the Concert Band, led by band teacher Simon Macvicar, took their places on stage to perform “Starsplitter Fanfare,” “Flight of the Banshee” and “Surfin’ U.S.A.”

Student-singers in the Fourth, Fifth and Sixth Grade Chorus followed the Concert Band, singing “Snow” and “Come January,” finishing with a fun rendition of “I Wanna Rock.” They were led by Ms. D’Amato, as well.

The Winter Concert concluded with a performance by the Wind Ensemble, led by Mr. Macvicar, who played “Spirit of the Stallion,” “Top Secret! (This Piece Will Self-Destruct!)” and “Ulterior Motifs.” The students performed again for their families during an evening concert.
