New club presents at Floral Park-Bellerose’s December board of education meeting

Floral Park-Bellerose School students in the Don’t Press Send Club, along with club adviser Caitlyn Pereira, were invited to present at the board of education meeting on Dec. 11.

Don’t Press Send Club, which began this school year, aims to educate students on how to be smart and safe on the internet. The club also spreads awareness of anti-bullying and positivity. Current members of the club are sixth graders Hanna Besozzi, Giannina Cancellarich, Clarissa Darbouze, Mayra Islam, Grace McDonald, Charissa Tam, Leila Torres, Lily Trentacoste and Kiera Zielinksi. Not all members were in attendance at the presentation.

The club members presented on the club’s goals, origins, recent Spirit Week activities and plans for the future. At the conclusion of the presentation, the students shared what the club means to them and how being part of the club has helped them limit time on their phones.
