With help from the East Williston community and fellow students, The Wheatley School student Emma Azevedo spearheaded an effort to send much-needed supplies for citizens of Ukraine displaced due to the war.

The Humanitarian Aid for Ukraine campaign began with a desire to extend hope and encouragement to families who have lost their homes and belongings and to remind them that the world is prepared to help. Over 50 students contributed by writing messages of hope that were included with the items and helped load the donations into the container.

Once the donations were ready to be delivered, Emma worked with Ukrainian Charitable Foundation “Pomogaem” to ensure that the items, which included medical supplies, clothing and personal hygiene items, will be distributed as soon as possible to those most in need.
