An Elmont man on probation and three juveniles have been charged with stealing a delivery driver’s vehicle in Mineola, police said.
Alix Dure, 19, allegedly entered a 2019 Toyota Camry that was unlocked, had the keys inside and parked outside Panda House in Mineola at 122 Old Country Road on Dec 27.
Dure recently left a probation meeting at 400 County Seat Dr. in Mineola before allegedly stealing the car and driving westbound on Old Country Road.
After police located the car in Elmont at Hoffman Avenue and Parkway Drive, four individuals fled from the immediate vicinity of the Camry, police said.
Dure was previously arrested in June 2021 on charges of robbery and assault before being released on probation.
Dure is being charged with grand larceny in the fourth degree, petit larceny and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fourth degree.
The three juveniles were charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle in the third degree and released to their guardians, police said.
