Desirie Sykes is the CEO/Founder of NESS Behavior Consulting Agency & NESS Cares Inc.

Her immersion in developmental disability services took a profound turn when her own child encountered speech challenges, sparking my journey into the transformative world of Applied Behavior Analysis.

Watching my students progress—from mastering minimal verbal communication to acquiring fundamental life skills—deepened her unwavering commitment to this field.

Beyond therapy sessions, her dedication extends to advocating for families. Recognizing the stark disparity between administrative decisions and the authentic needs of parents and children fueled my mission to empower families. Desirie became resolute in equipping them with the tools and knowledge needed to navigate the system effectively.

In 2020, amid the upheaval of the COVID-19 pandemic and the exacerbated challenges faced by students with special needs during the shift to virtual learning, Desirie founded NESS Cares.

This not-for-profit, 501c (3) organization serves as a platform providing essential resources for individuals in need of special education and mental health support. It also allows her to share her own experience battling high-functioning depression, finding solace, safety, and proper advocacy.

NESS Behavior Consulting, her for-profit agency launched in 2018. It provides direct ABA therapy and parent training services primarily to children diagnosed with autism. The company also extends our services to public schools in need of behavioral technicians to assist children whose behavioral challenges impede their ability to learn.

NESS Behavior Consulting stands not only as a service provider but as a beacon of hope, working in tandem with NESS Cares.

Together, the organizations provide a  collective commitment is to redefine the narrative for children with special needs.
